Map functions
esp_get_munic_hist()
Municipalities in force at a census.

Output coordinate reference system. By default, 4258 (ETRS89), as in mapSpain. |
moveCAN |
Position of the Canary Islands. FALSE (default): real
position. TRUE: next to the Peninsula, as
mapSpain::esp_move_can() does; to draw the box that
separates them, use mapSpain::esp_get_can_box(). A vector
c(lon, lat) adds an extra displacement. |
include_nonmunicipal |
If FALSE, non-municipal territories (codes 53xxx) are
dropped. |
census_data |
If TRUE (default), the census figures are added
(censos table). If FALSE, only
cod_ine, no_munic and the geometry are
returned. |
cache_dir |
Cache directory. By default, the one given by
mhist_cache_dir(). |
update_cache |
If TRUE, downloads the geometries again. |
verbose |
If TRUE, shows download messages. |
Returns an sf object with one row per municipality, or
NULL (with a message) if the geometries cannot be
downloaded.
esp_get_prov_hist(), esp_get_pj_hist(),
esp_get_circ_hist()
Provinces (every census), judicial districts (1900, 1910, 1920 and
1930) and electoral districts (1920: districts for the Cortes; 1931,
1933 and 1936: constituencies of the Second Republic). They have the
arguments year, epsg, moveCAN,
cache_dir, update_cache and
verbose as esp_get_munic_hist(), and:

municipalities of each unit is added. For the 1920 districts the 1920
census is used; for the constituencies of the Second Republic, the 1930

They return an sf object with the columns
cod_unit, nom, n_mun (number of
municipalities) and, where applicable, hogares,
pder, phec and pob_serie.

Population census figures of every municipality between 1842 and
2011. A municipality is in force at a census when it has household
figures (hogares).
